Celebrate Christmas with a Hero Golf Tourney

The Celebrate Christmas with a Hero organization announces plans for this year’s golf tournament fundraiser.  This tournament benefits needy children of Oconee County at Christmas and throughout the year.  It provides interaction with local heroes in the fields of law enforcement, emergency services, community leaders, and the military.  This year’s tournament will be held at The Trails at Chickasaw Point, explains Sgt. Lisa Williams with the Seneca Police Department and one of the organizers of Celebrate Christmas with a Hero.  “The golf tournament is going to be Friday, September 20th at Chickasaw Pointe.  We play using captain’s choice with teams consisting of four-players, each for $60 per player, which includes green fees, cart fees, range balls, breakfast, lunch, and team bags.  We still need teams and would like folks to put in some teams. We do breakfast biscuits and coffee at 8am, registration and warm-up from 8-8:45am and shotgun start at 9am.  Lunch will be served after the round of golf around 1:15pm.  The tournament also features door prizes, team bags and snacks.  So, you get all that for $60.” You do not have to play golf to support the Celebrate Christmas with a Hero golf tournament fundraiser, adds Sgt. Williams. “We do hole sponsorships for $100.  We do a nice, big four-color process sign with the logo on it for anybody that would like to do that for $100.  We put those out at the holes.” Celebrate Christmas with a Hero accepts donations year round, concludes Sgt. Williams. “We take donations all the way up to Christmas and beyond because there again we can give you a tax receipt for your donation since we are our own 501c3 tax-deductible organization.” For more information or to register a team, call 864-885-2730 or 864-638-4247.
