Charges filed against Greenville Man after Monday Pursuit

The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office has filed charges against a Greenville man after a pursuit Monday afternoon that concluded on Highway 183 near Wolf Stake Church Road. 25-year-old Christopher Timothy Baldwin stands charged with strong armed robbery, assault and battery in the third degree, attempted murder for aiming his vehicle at a deputy while in a high speed pursuit, forcing the deputy to jump out of the way at the last second before being struck at the intersection of Catherine Street and Highway 28 in Walhalla and possession of a stolen vehicle. Baldwin was also charged in traffic tickets with driving under suspension, reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and possession of drug paraphernalia. Baldwin also has charges from the Seneca Police Department and the Clemson City Police Department. The incident began at the Game Stop in Seneca after reports of a strong-armed robbery.
