Chick-fil-A of Clemson and Seneca Donates 20,000 Meals to the Community

A rare occasion happened on Sunday, June 12.

Chick-fil-A opened their Seneca store for a special EMPLOYEE family day. Team members and their families spent their day off packaging 20,000 meals.

Over 80 volunteers from the Seneca and Clemson stores converged on the store to assemble these meals. Music played as everyone, wearing hair nets, scooped ingredients. A healthy Cinnamon Oatmeal Breakfast was packaged this year to help hungry families in the community. The meals are being donated to 10 different non-profits in the local area.

Hannah Raines, Digital Media Coordinator, was the catalyst behind this
project. She had experienced a similar event at Chick-fil-A a few years ago
and thought this would be a perfect fit. “This is a wonderful way to serve
our local area in a very tangible way. Working together provides
camaraderie among our team members and their families. Our Operator,
Herb Tyler and his wife, Karil are passionate about making a difference in
the communities surrounding their restaurants.”

The non-profit Harvest Pack (www.HarvestPack.org) provided the logistics
for this event by bringing all the necessary ingredients, packaging supplies
and project management.  Harvest Pack mobilizes these types of projects
throughout the nation for business teambuilding events, school and community groups and churches.

Over ten million meals have been packaged by thousands of volunteers since inception in 2012.
