Chicken House Fire Prompted Multi-Unit Response on Monday

On Monday morning, a fire broke out at a chicken house, prompting a response from Oconee County Emergency Services. Despite the fire hydrant being located at a distance, the crews managed to extinguish the fire. The scene was attended by crews from Holly Springs, Westminster, Cleveland, Walhalla, and Oconee County Emergency Services. Additional support was provided by tankers from Long Creek, West Union, Oakway, and South Union. Firefighter rehabilitation was assisted by Westminster Rescue, Seneca Rescue, and Prisma. The South Carolina Forestry also contributed by handling a minor grass and woods fire that resulted from the chicken house fire. Currently, the cause of the fire remains undetermined.
