Child Sex Crimes Cases heard in Anderson County Court

Three men from the Upstate, collectively facing 60 charges related to child sex crimes, made their court appearances in Anderson on Tuesday.

Shane Parrish admitted guilt to a charge of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and received a sentence of three years in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, followed by five years of probation.

Daniel Lon Love, who is up against 20 charges of sexual exploitation of a minor, was also present in court. Love was apprehended in September after Anderson County Sheriff’s Office investigators discovered child pornography on his electronic devices. These devices, seized during the investigation, are yet to be sent for forensic analysis, meaning not all evidence in the case has been presented. The judge has requested a status hearing in 60 days for an update on the case.

William Burton Jr., accused of numerous crimes involving children, also pleaded guilty to third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Burton faced 20 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in 2022. The prosecutors in Burton’s case proposed a plea deal, which received the judge’s approval. Burton’s sentence includes 10 years in prison, suspended to one year of home confinement and five years of probation. He will also be mandated to register as a sex offender.

All three cases were adjudicated in the Anderson County Tenth Judicial Circuit.
