City looking to expand Jazz on the Alley

To meet the growing crowd each Thursday night, the Seneca City Council is considering expanding Jazz on the Alley. “There has been some discussion about maybe instead of just Ram Cat Alley, moving the stage down towards the center of Townville Street and Ram Cat Alley.” Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander added that City Attorney Mike Smith told council that they would need to change the ordinance in order to include that area for Jazz on the Alley. Tuesday night, council heard first reading of the ordinance and second reading is scheduled for next month, continues Mayor Alexander. “This will probably happen next year because there is some infrastructure there that needs to be done like the power.” This is about accommodating and including more people, concludes Mayor Alexander. “Hopefully, Jazz on the Alley continues to grow and we will need that extra space. Townville Street is actually a little bit more shaded and I know lots of people that would like to sit in the shade. Plus, we can incorporate the Ye Old Sandwich Shop into it too.” Jazz on the Alley is a free event each Thursday night, April through October, from 6:30-9pm.
