City Of Clemson Announces Partial Closures Of College Avenue On Friday Night’s Before Clemson Football Home Games

(Seneca, SC)—–The city of Clemson has announced that beginning with this weekend’s Clemson home football game against Texas A & M, that College Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic between Keith Street and Highway 93 on the Friday night’s before Clemson home games between 10pm and 3am. 

Vehicles still parked inside the closed sections of downtown will be towed starting at 10pm.

According to an e-mail blast from the city of Clemson, the downtown area has become increasingly more populated with both vehicular and pedestrian traffic on Friday night’s prior to Saturday home football games. The change is only to promote pedestrian safety. 

The city also has announced that the ordinance of no open containers is still in place. 

The city has also said that CATbuses will reroute their pick up’s and drop off’s during the closures, to take place at College Avenue at Highway 93. At 2am, CATbuses will be placed in front of Tiger Town Tavern and The Study Hall to load for passengers leaving the downtown area. 

The city of Clemson also announced in an e-mail blast that the Keith Street Parking Deck elevator has been repaired and is now functioning properly.
