City of Clemson organizing Citywide Clean Sweep

The City of Clemson hosts the first annual Clemson Clean Sweep April 6-10, 2015. The Clemson Clean Sweep is being proposed as a weeklong event to promote and encourage cleanup of residential homes/yards, commercial and municipal property. Clemson University has been doing the Clemson Sweep on campus for years. For the first time, it has been proposed that the city get involved by extending cleanup activities throughout the city. The City of Clemson is organizing two volunteer opportunities on Wednesday, April 8. The first is 9am to 11:30am and the second is 1:30pm to 4pm. Both sessions will focus on spreading mulch and doing various landscaping activities at the flag plaza in front of City Hall and at the landscaped intersection of Tiger Boulevard and Highway 93. Volunteers should call Glenda Stone at the Clemson Parks and Recreation Department at 864-624-1120 extension 16000 to register. All tools and equipment will be provided. Participants should dress appropriately in work clothes. Signups close April 3, 2015 at 5pm. Water and snacks will be provided to volunteers.
