City planning to repave Railroad Street

As soon as it warms up, the City of Seneca plans to repave Railroad Street. This stretch of downtown street houses one of the charging stations for the all-electric CAT buses built by Proterra. More traffic on the street has resulted in holes in the asphalt, explains Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander. “On Railroad Street, where the buses come and go from it is real rough there and we’ve talked about the road and how bad it has gotten torn up. So, there are plans to redo that street. We’re looking at redoing that stretch of road there to get it where it is not so bumpy and busted up.” Weather is major factor when it comes to repairing roads. If it is too cold than the new asphalt cannot harden properly, so, expect sometime this spring for the road to close temporarily while repaving takes place. The mayor said that the city is in the process of securing funding for the project.
