Clemson Christmas Parade Road Closure Notice

The City of Clemson will host its annual Christmas Parade on Tuesday, December 5th, 2023, with a rain date of Thursday, December 7th. The parade will start at 6 p.m. and last until 8 p.m. The parade route will go along College Avenue, from McHugh Lane to Keith Street.

To ensure the safety and smooth operation of the parade, the city will implement several road closures and parking restrictions on the day of the event. The following are some of the important points to note:

  • McHugh Lane – parking and access blocked: On-street parking and access from College Avenue to McHugh Lane will be blocked beginning 3 p.m. Vehicles parked on McHugh Lane will be towed beginning at 4 p.m. Exit to Edgewood will be left open from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • College Avenue – road closure: Road closure on College Avenue to Keith Street will occur at 4:30 p.m. Access will be blocked between College Avenue and all side streets, including North Clemson Avenue, Sloan Street and Keith Street. All vehicles on College Avenue and McHugh Lane must be moved by 4 p.m. or they will be towed.
  • Highway 93 – road closure: Highway 93 northbound and southbound will be closed between Cherry Road and Williamson Road at 4:45 p.m.
  • Calhoun Drive – traffic arm activated: The traffic arm on Calhoun Drive, at Brackett Hall, will remain activated until after the parade to deter motorists from traveling toward barricaded areas. Those parked in the Sikes Hall area will be directed to exit via Parkway Drive onto Cherry Road, at the President’s Home.
