Clemson City Council Meets This Evening

Clemson City Council will hold a meeting this evening in the Council Chamber at Clemson City Hall. The meeting will begin with a public hearing on the FY 2023-2024 budget at 6:00 p.m., followed by the regular council meeting at 6:30 p.m. The agenda for the meeting includes proclamations for Pride Month and Race Amity Day, as well as approval of minutes from the May 15, 2023 council meeting. Reports and discussions will cover various topics including recognition of Police Department employees and potential annexation of SCDOT right of way contiguous to US Hwy 123.

Policy actions to be considered include ordinances to adopt the FY 2023-2024 operating budget, increase parking violation fines, and increase rental fees for long- and short-term rentals. Other policy items include approval of a sponsorship policy for Parks & Recreation Department events and programs, a private/public partnership mural application for the City of Clemson, and awarding construction bids for various projects. The meeting will conclude with an executive session to discuss preparation for hiring a new City Attorney after the resignation of Mary McCormac last week.
