Clemson PD Officer Injured in Pursuit of Stolen Vehicle

Clemson Police reported that an officer sustained injuries after their vehicle collided with a tree while attempting to apprehend the driver of a stolen vehicle on Saturday night shortly after 11 p.m. on Tiger Boulevard. According to police, the vehicle was a 2010 Kia Optima, which had been reported stolen from Greenville County.

The officer initiated an attempt to stop the vehicle, but the driver evaded, leading to a pursuit. During the pursuit, the officer’s vehicle hydroplaned and struck a tree. The injured officer received treatment for minor injuries at the crash site. The driver of the stolen vehicle fled on foot, while a passenger in the vehicle was arrested but later released on Sunday.
