Clemson Police’s Initiative Against Fake IDs

Clemson Police will announce a major initiative against fake IDs at local bars next week. Last year, Chief Jorge Campos suggested a pilot program using Intelli-Check software to the City Council.

This software, already in use at Tiger Town Tavern, scans and verifies driver’s licenses, helping deter underage drinking. The City Council is working on funding the $42,000 annual cost of the program. The issue was discussed again at the Police Advisory Board’s meeting on March 28.

The announcement will be made at Tiger Town Tavern on Tuesday, April 16.
