Clemson University to host 40th First Friday Parade

A 40-year tradition continues this Friday in Clemson. Since 1974, Clemson University student organizations have marched in a parade the day before the first home football game. Therefore, this Friday, Sept. 5 at 6pm the community gathers for the annual First Friday Parade. Floats will reflect this year’s parade theme of “The Echo of the Tiger.” President James Clements is the parade’s grand marshal. The parade route follows S.C. 93 from the President’s Home to Williamson Road. A pep rally on Bowman field follows this year’s parade. Central Spirit coordinates both the parade and pep rally. They are free and open to the public. The First Friday Parade and pep rally precede Clemson’s first home game of the season against South Carolina State on Saturday with kickoff at 12:30pm in Memorial Stadium.
