Close to 1,000 COVID-19 Cases in Oconee County

Five additional cases were added to Oconee County’s totals (now 998) in Wednesday’s DHEC report, along with two additional Oconee County deaths. Both were elderly persons who died on August 9 and 17.

According to DHEC, Oconee’s COVID-19 death toll stands at 16. Statewide, DHEC announced 505 new confirmed cases and 42 additional confirmed deaths. This brings the total number of confirmed cases to 112,643, probable cases to 1,450, confirmed deaths to 2,451, and 122 probable deaths.

In Anderson County there were 29 new cases confirmed yesterday and five elderly deaths; Pickens County added 14 new cases yesterday.
