Coach Dunlap announces Retirement

Tonight, Feb. 16, could be Hal Dunlap’s last home basketball game at Walhalla High School. On Thursday, the legendary coach made known his plans to retire at the end of the current school year. In 1984, Dunlap started working in the School District of Oconee County as an economics teacher and basketball coach at Tamassee-Salem High School and then in 1999 he transitioned to the same roles at Walhalla High School. Tonight, the Razorbacks’ varsity boys basketball team hosts Indian Land in the second round of the AAA State Playoffs. The school plans to honor Dunlap before the game, which tips off at 7pm.
