COE Optics to establish Research Operations in Seneca

A company plans to invest $1 million and create five new jobs in the City of Seneca.  COE Optics, LLC, a leading provider of optical research and development solutions, announced plans to establish its new research manufacturing operations in Oconee County. This decision represents a $1 million investment and is expected to generate five new highly-skilled research intensive jobs. “We are excited about establishing our new optoelectronics research operations in the City of Seneca,” said Cindy Johnson, principal officer for COE Optics LLC. “Oconee County and the City of Seneca offer COE Optics an excellent business environment with close proximity to Clemson University. We are grateful for the support we have received from local officials and happy to bring this company from North Carolina to Oconee County to start a new chapter.” COE Optics develops and conducts research on ways to integrate new materials into optoelectronic devices and systems. This includes the design and manufacturing techniques for photonic devices used in sensing, imaging and communications. The growth for their core business and research-related opportunities has been tied to the defense industry. The company will locate inside the Seneca Commerce Center.  “We are very excited that COE Optics has committed to grow within Oconee County and look forward to many successful years of business growth.
