Columbia Area Woman Charged with Breaking into Local Hotel Room

Seneca police have taken into custody a 40-year-old woman from the Columbia area following her alleged involvement in the burglary of a local hotel room. Kendra Nicole Tucker, a resident of Prosperity, is accused of unlawfully entering a room at the Hampton Inn situated on EN 1st Street at approximately 3:30 AM on Thursday morning.

During this alleged intrusion, Tucker is said to have taken a backpack belonging to a college student. The contents of the backpack were reported to be various school supplies with an estimated value of $550. The unfortunate victim was on the verge of commencing her college classes.

The incident unfolded when the student, who was staying overnight with her father, was jolted awake by the sound of shattering glass emanating from the bathroom, as detailed in the police report.

Currently, Kendra Nicole Tucker remains jailed at the Oconee County Detention Center, where she is being held on a bond amounting to $50,000.
