Comments That Some Perceived As Threat Toward Walhalla High School Were Greatly Exaggerated, According To School District

(Seneca, SC)—Comments that some perceived as a possible threat towards Walhalla High School have been greatly exaggerated, according to the School District of Oconee County, and after an investigation, the School District says that there is no threat towards the school.

Jennifer Dodd, spokesperson for the School District, said that the School District believes that there is no perceivable threat towards Walhalla High after comments that were not made originally on social media were taken out of context and perceived as a threat towards the school by those posting on social media.

Dodd said that some parents did remove their children from attendance today at Walhalla High. However, all activities, including classroom instruction, are proceeding as scheduled and it is a normal school day at the school.

Besides the School Resource Officer already assigned to the school, additional law enforcement were on site this morning for student drop-off at Walhalla High, according to Dodd.
