Construction continues as Schools start back

Construction continues at two elementary schools in Oconee County even though students have returned for classes. Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland ensures parents that both sites are safe. “Fairly significant addition and renovation projects are going on at Ravenel and Fair Oak Elementary. Both of those schools are getting new cafeterias and full size gymnasium for students’ PE classes. Those projects will actually be occurring during this school year, so we will not open those until later. It is going to be a challenge for parents and students at both of those locations but our construction team and architects have been working hard to make sure the sites are safe.” Parents dropping off or picking up students at those two school campuses in Oconee County should use extra caution while construction is underway.
