Corinth-Shiloh FD Celebrates 60 Years of Service

For the past 60 years, the Corinth-Shiloh Fire District in Oconee County has been dutifully served by men and women responding to calls. Sunday, this milestone was celebrated with an open house event, featuring a bouncy house and other entertaining activities aimed at the district’s youngest residents.

The event also served as an educational opportunity, with fire safety lessons for children. Attendees had the chance to view the department’s fire trucks and other firefighting equipment. This 60th anniversary comes at a pivotal time for Corinth-Shiloh, as they hope to establish a tax district. Drawing inspiration from the tax district created for the Keowee Fire Department, the predominantly volunteer based CSFD aims to hire full-time firefighters.
