Coroner identifies Man killed at Anderson Truck Stop

The man killed Thursday morning while walking in a Fair Play truck stop parking lot has been identified. The Anderson County Coroner’s Office reports that 53-year-old Garbin Libert of New Haven, Connecticut was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler at the Love’s Truck Stop. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened around 4am when the driver of the tractor-trailer was turning in the parking lot. The driver then backed over him by accident. According to authorities, Libert was wearing dark clothing. He was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been filed against the driver of the 18-wheeler.
