Could Casinos Be in Georgia’s Future?

A resort and casino could be coming to the Georgia side of Lake Hartwell at Exit 177 on I-85 in Lavonia. Before the proposed project can move forward, however, Georgia would have to change state laws that currently prohibit casinos from operating in the Peach State. The measure would then be put on the ballot as a referendum for citizens to vote.
