County Administrator Brock Rated Excellent By Council; New Fire Station Planned at Bountyland

Oconee County’s Administrator Amanda Brock has been given a rating of “excellent” after a review by her employers. At the County Council meeting held on Tuesday night, her hard work was rewarded with an extra $5,000 on her salary.

The council also decided to hire additional staff members to work in the Administrator’s Office, however specifics, such as how many people would be added, were not immediately provided.

Also during the meeting, the council hesitantly moved forward with plans for a new fire station at Bountyland across from the former Hamilton Career Center. The council was in agreement that, while the location is not ideal, a new station is needed to alleviate the workload of firefighters in the area. Seneca’s Fire Chief Richie Caudill addressed the County Council and said that the new station will help alleviate the workload out of Seneca’s Fire Headquarters, but only if it is staffed with fire fighters 24 hours a day…
