County Council Gets OARS Update

Sheriff Mike Crenshaw and Ashley Williams from Christ Central Ministries announced a new program for some people who are addicted to drugs or alcohol in Oconee County. The program, called OARS, would let them go to a 30-day rehab program instead of jail. Williams provided the Oconee County Council with an update at their meeting last week…

The sheriff said the program would help people get better and make the jail less crowded. The program could start on October 1 and it needs approval from the county council and the solicitor’s office.
