COVID-19 Doesn’t Affect Any Particular Grade Level, Says Thorsland

Superintendent for the School District of Oconee County Dr. Michael Thorsland said that coronavirus within the school system doesn’t seem to be affecting any particular grade level or age group, but because of the approach that’s being implemented by the District, it might appear that lower grades seem to be more impacted by COVID-19, however, he said, that’s not the case…

Currently, according to the school district’s website, there are fourteen different elementary classes from various schools that are in quarantine, with return dates from between January 25 and February 1. Since classes started back this semester on January 4, there have been more than 100 cases diagnosed among students and staff throughout the district.
