Cpl. Watts Continues to Show Signs of Improvement, Says Family

Cpl. Lucas Watts, an Oconee County deputy, has shown remarkable progress in his recovery after being shot in the head during a pursuit in November. According to updates shared by his family on CaringBridge, Watts is beginning to wake up and respond to questions for the first time since the incident.

Despite the significant milestone, concerns remain about Watts’ vision due to the damage to his right eye, which had to be removed. However, the family remains hopeful and is celebrating these victories, attributing all glory to their faith.

In addition to the emotional support, a recovery fund set up for Watts and his family has successfully raised over $170,000 to help with medical expenses and other needs.
