Crash Between Seneca and Clemson Stalls Traffic

An accident occurred on the westbound section of 123, also known as the Seneca-Clemson corridor. A large truck was involved in an accident, ending up on its side and scattering debris across the highway. Despite the severity of the accident, there were no immediate reports of injuries.

The crash took place just before the peak rush hour, causing westbound traffic to come to a standstill from the Wells Highway traffic lights, extending beyond the Lake Keowee Auto Group dealerships.

Oconee County Sheriff’s Deputies eventually managed to reroute the Seneca-bound traffic via Davis Creek Road or the old Clemson-Seneca Highway, also known as secondary 1. The road was reopened during the night after the debris was cleared and the wrecked truck was removed.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is leading the investigation into the cause of the accident.
