Criminal Domestic Violence Charges filed against Seneca Man

A Seneca man was arrested late last week by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office on an outstanding warrant charging him with criminal domestic violence of a high and aggravated nature. Deputies responded to an address on Sirrine Street on the Utica Mill Hill in the late morning hours of May 8 in regards to an assault that had occurred. The victim told the deputy that 23-year-old Jamal Keshy Watonsi Ngoumou argued with her earlier that morning and then later on proceeded to call her names and then punched her in the face, made threats to kill her and then threw her on the bed. Watonsi Ngoumou then grabbed a knife and made a threat to use it against the victim. Watonsi Ngoumou later grabbed a hammer and threatened to use it against the victim. Later on after the victim was able to lock the door, Watonsi Ngoumou reportedly kicked the door in and proceeded to bite the victim on the head. The victim was able to get away to a neighbor’s house to call 911. Watonsi Ngoumou then reportedly broke the victims phone and then reportedly left the residence and was not located by the responding officer at that time. Warrants against Watsonsi Ngoumou were obtained on May 9. The victim is a member of Watonsi Ngoumou household. Watonsi Ngoumou is being held at the Detention Center on a $50,000 surety bond. He would be required to wear electronic monitoring should he be able to make bond.
