CU to award Honorary Degree to Zucker

Clemson University will honor philanthropist and businesswoman Anita Zucker of Charleston with an Honorary Doctorate of Humanities at its summer graduation ceremony on August 9th at 11am in Littlejohn Coliseum. Zucker is chairperson and CEO of The Inter Tech Group Inc. She also owns the Carolina Ice Palace, the South Carolina Stingrays and Tristan restaurant in Charleston. She has served in countless philanthropic organizations. She was chairperson of the board of governors of the School of Business at the College of Charleston and on the boards of Addlestone Hebrew Academy, Porter Gaud and Ashley Hall schools. Zucker is past chair of the MUSC Foundation board and member emeritus of Hollings Cancer Center’s citizens advisory committee. She serves on the president’s initiative committee at the University of South Carolina. Zucker and her family have been strong supporters of Clemson, donating $5 million in 2012 to help build a graduate education center at the Clemson University Restoration Institute in North Charleston.
