Daniel High Student charged with making Threats

A student at Daniel High School was arrested and charged with making threatening statements at school.  The Pickens County Sheriff’s Office announces that the unidentified 16-year-old stands charged with disturbing school and breach of peace stemming from an incident on October 18.  On that day, the student made statements about the use of hazardous devices and firearms to a classroom teacher. No specific student was identified in the statements or targeted as a potential victim. The student was removed from class and suspended from school pending an expulsion hearing, which was held late last week.  The student has not been allowed back on campus since the incident and no weapons were discovered on school property. The case now goes to Family Court.
