Dates to remember as School Year winds down

The school year is winding down and there are a few important dates to remember, says Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland. “We are certainly getting close to the end of the year; we are still in the midst of testing season, it seems like we have been doing that for the last couple of months. June 4 is the last official day of school for students. So, June 3 and 4 will be half days for students. They will come in, our high school students will take exams and students will dismiss. Elementary schools at 11am and middle and high schools will dismiss around 11:15am.” The School District of Oconee County also celebrates a holiday between now and then, continues Dr. Thorsland. “Students will be off that Monday for Memorial Day.” To see your child’s school schedule visit www.oconee.k12.sc.us.
