Deputies arrest man for Traffic and Drug Violations

Deputies with the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Seneca man on traffic and drug violations during normal road patrol operations.  29-year-old Nicholas James Crawford was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center on charges of driving under suspension and drug charges due to possession of a schedule two substance. An Oconee County Sheriff’s Office deputy was traveling on North Grant Road Monday afternoon during the lunch hour when he noticed a blue car with no tag. The deputy then initiated a traffic stop at Oak Creek Road. The deputy then obtained the license of the driver and vehicle information. Crawford stated to the deputy that he was on his way to pay vehicle taxes and have the car registered in his name. The deputy was then informed by dispatch that Crawford’s license was suspended. After asking Crawford to exit the vehicle and empty his pockets on the trunk, the deputy found three orange pills in a plastic bag. The pills had the writing of Adderall on them. Crawford was then placed under arrest on the two charges and his vehicle was towed.
