Dietterick works last Council Meeting as Seneca City Administrator
It was a tearful conclusion to last night’s Seneca City Council Meeting as longtime City Administrator Greg Dietterick announced it was his last meeting in an official capacity. “I’m just very thankful for the opportunity to serve. It’s be 20 years and that is pretty unique.” Even though it was anticipated, the announcement still came as a shock to the council and Mayor Dan Alexander. “When Greg said tonight that this would be his last meeting that sort of caught me off guard. Greg has been here for 20 years and he has always really wanted to leave Seneca better than when he came and I can definitely say he has done that. So, I’m very grateful for his leadership and the many years of service that he has given to Seneca. I’m happy for him, but it is sort of bitter sweet because I’m excited that he is able to retire and spend some time with his family. It will be a lot less stressful, I hope, for him, but maybe he and his wife can do some traveling. But he has given a lot to Seneca and I do appreciate everything he has done for us.” Dietterick’s last day as City Administrator will be June 30; however, he has an appointment scheduled for the Seneca City Council’s next meeting on June 19, so last night was the final council meeting he will oversee.
