Dragon Boat Upstate Festival Raised More than $300K

On Saturday, 23 participants and 30 volunteers raised more than $300,000 for the Prisma Health Cancer Institute during the hospital’s Dragon Boat Upstate Festival at Portman Marina on Lake Hartwell.

This marked the first time in three years that the event has been held on the water, as recent festivals were held virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Since the festival began in 2006, it has raised more than $4 million in funding that, in the past, has helped support programs like the Mobile Mammography Initiative, the Center for Cancer Prevention and Wellness program, the Institute for Translational Oncology Research, McCrary Blood & Marrow Transplant Unit and the Center for Integrative Oncology & Survivorship.
