Educational Talent Search reaching out through Social Media

In an effort to tell more youth from disadvantaged backgrounds about the benefits of earning a degree, the Educational Talent Search Program at Tri-County Technical College is reaching out through Social Media, explains coordinator Herm Allen. “We have taken on a Social Media initiative, so right now Tri-County Technical College’s ETS Program is out on Social Media, we are on Facebook, Twitter, etc. I have a brand new counselor who has taken a lead on that, so be on the look out for the Educational Talent Search Program on Social Media.” ETS is a federally funded program that serves 854 participants at four middle schools and six high schools in the tri-county area of Anderson, Oconee and Pickens counties. ETS strives to provide academic support to students that are in need of assistance in understanding their post-secondary educational opportunities and other options available to them.
