Electric Bus returns to Seneca

An electric bus has returned to the City of Seneca. After five months away undergoing inspections and modifications by manufacturer Proterra of Greenville, one electric bus is back. Seneca Planning and Community Development Director Ed Halbig says residents can now see the electric bus making shadow runs around the city. “One of the buses has returned to the Propex Facility in complete working order and we are looking for another bus later this week. The remaining two will be following shortly there after. The buses are going to be going back to the charging stations and the technicians are going to make sure that everything is working with the links to the charging station, so we should see a lot of that activity in place. Then followed sometime later in July by shadow service again and after we’re satisfied with shadow service then we will look at putting the buses into full service.” Clemson Area Transit operates the buses once they are deemed ready by Proterra. CAT will decide when the launch date of the new all-electric bus fleet in the City of Seneca will be as well.
