Expansion of Cancer Care in Oconee County

The Oconee Memorial Hospital (OMH) Foundation has launched a $4.2 million campaign to expand cancer care in Oconee County. The expansion, funded by the community and Prisma Health, will nearly double the size of Prisma Health’s Cancer Institute in Seneca. The announcement was made at OMH Foundation’s Annual Pass the Purse event.

The project, costing $12 million in total, is expected to break ground in fall 2026. The foundation has already raised $1.1 million, with significant contributions from Marilyn Parke and The Jim Parke Foundation. The expansion will increase the current 11,000-square-foot center to nearly 20,000 square feet, allowing it to serve more patients.

The plan includes increasing the size of the infusion suite, adding a new nursing station, seven new exam rooms, a healing garden, an expanded waiting room, a relocated lab, and more workspace for medical staff. The institute served 1,135 patients last year.

The community is invited to support the expansion. For more information on the project or to support it, visit https://prismahealth.org/buildinghope or contact the OMH Foundation office at 864-885-7912.
