Extra Counselors at Seneca Middle

Extra counselors are at Seneca Middle School today after a tragic event over the weekend. Seneca Middle School sixth grader Emmalee Budrevich was killed in a hit and run accident Saturday night, Feb. 17. Oconee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland says counselors will be talking to students today. “There are additional counselors on staff for any student who needs a chance to talk or share feelings and that kind of thing. So, we will have additional counselors on staff as long as the need is there for our students. We’re just praying for Emmalee’s family, friends and teachers. There will be a counselor who follows Emmalee’s schedule today and talks to the students in each of her classes. It is just a sad time at Seneca Middle and for the whole school district today.” The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident at the intersection of Wells Highway and Owens Road as the vehicle that struck Emmalee left the scene. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is looking for a 2005-2010 white Chevy Tahoe, which could have damage to the driver front and undercarriage. If you have any information about this crash or about the vehicle of interest, you are asked to call the South Carolina Highway Patrol at 864-241-1000 or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
