Fair Play Community shares Coffee with Cop

The fourth Coffee with a Cop hosted by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office was a success Tuesday morning in Fair Play, says Public Information Officer Jimmy Watt. “We were very pleased with things, had a pretty descent turnout and were able to meet a lot of those that we serve who live in the southern part of the county. Certainly want to thank Chuck and Lisa with the Gazebo Restaurant off Highway 11 and I-85 in Fair Play for hosting us.” Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the department’s work in Oconee County neighborhoods. Watt says the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office plans to host another event soon. “We are going to be looking to do another Coffee with a Cop and if there are any businesses or organizations that are interested in hosting; you can contact me at the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office at 864-638-4199.” Coffee with a Cop aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time.
