Fatal Truck Crash in OC

One person is dead after a truck accident in Oconee County, Sunday night. The South Carolina Highway Patrol says it happened around 7:30pm on Pickens Highway near Snead Road. The driver of a Chevrolet Avalanche veered off the road; then overcorrected and lost control, striking a guardrail and then hitting a tree before the vehicle overturned. Troopers say two other people in the vehicle were injured in the crash. The driver was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital with serious injuries and the front seat passenger was taken by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. Oconee County Coroner Karl Addis pronounced 28-year-old Timothy Mark Hoover of Seneca dead at the scene from blunt force head trauma. He was a restrained back seat passenger in the vehicle. Addis said his manner of death is accidental. The South Carolina Highway Patrol continues to investigate the fatal crash.
