Filing for Local Offices in Oconee County

The filing period for local offices in this year’s election begins on Saturday. This requires the Oconee elections office staff in Walhalla to work afternoon hours. The Pine Street complex offices will be open from 12 pm to 5 pm this Saturday. During this time, according to Assistant Elections Director Ryan Nowland, residents of Oconee can qualify to run in this year’s primaries for the following offices: State Senate 1, State House Seats 1 and 2, County Coroner, County Auditor, County Treasurer, and County Council Seats 2, 4, and 5. The filing period will continue on weekdays from 8:30 am to 5 pm until Monday, April 1 at 12 pm.
