Filming underway on Ram Cat Alley

Filming is underway on Ram Cat Alley in downtown Seneca today on the feature film ‘Elbow Grease’.  The street will be closed until 8pm tonight as the film crew shoots a street festival scene for the movie.  Seneca Mayor Dan Alexander said crews started preparing last night for today’s filming. “They actually got out here late last night and started setting up and a lot of them worked through the night getting everything set up, so it is going to be a great day on Ram Cat.  It has been a great week, yesterday and the day before they were filming at Hometown Food Store.” The Mayor thanks everyone for their efforts in showing southern hospitality and courtesy to the production crew as they work.  He says he has received many compliments from the film crew. “They are so happy to be here and they just said everybody is so nice, anything that anybody could do to accommodate them, they are doing it.” Mayor Alexander is excited about having the movie advertise the city to the rest of the world.  “Oconee County and Seneca has so much to offer, it is a beautiful area that we all live in, and so we can share that with other people.” A number of city employees have been instrumental to the film crew and Mayor Alexander gave special thanks to the city staff for all their hard work.  “Tony Mize and that whole crew there, they do an amazing job, not only what they are doing with the film but throughout the year if you look at any of the events, that takes the cooperation between a lot of people to be able to pull it off.  They do a great job.  I know Cindy, Carol, Riley, Rick, etc., they all have their part and work so well together as a team.  We could not do what we do without all the cooperation of all the city employees because it is a tremendous amount of work that goes into setting up anything.”  Once again, Ram Cat Alley and one side of the parking lot behind Buchanan Park will be blocked through 8pm tonight.  The city will provide shuttle service for all customers and patients of the businesses on Ram Cat Alley from all parking lots in the downtown area while filming is underway.
