Final Exams begin for SDOC Students

The end of another school year is neigh and that means final exams.  Oconee County Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Michael Thorsland says it is a very busy time of year.  “The end of the year is always extremely busy for our students, teachers and principals and one of the things that make it busy is exams.  Those start on May 29 and 30 for our seniors and then June 2-5 for our freshmen, sophomores and juniors.” Dr. Thorsland says this time of year can be stressful.  “Our exam periods are times where students can get a little stressed out and have a little tension as they prepare for those exams.  It is a very important time and we encourage our students and their parents to really take these last few weeks seriously because those are high stakes tests and can affect a student’s final grade.” The final two days of exams, June 4 and 5, are half days where students will dismiss at 11:15am each day.
