Fire Instructor II Program

Ten senior members of Emergency Service departments across Oconee County participated in a 40-hour, instructor development program over the past two weekends. The “Fire Instructor 2” program covers curriculum development, test writing, and student and instructor evaluation systems. The course also covered the administrative duties and supervision and management if other training instructors. Oconee County Fire Chief Charlie King said, “Each student was required to write, develop and deliver a final project. The final project had to be a training program that was important to the individual or their department. Successful completion of the course practical and written exam will certify students to NFPA 1041 – Level II in accordance with NFPA 1041, Standard for Instructor Professional Qualifications and accredited through the International Fire Services Accreditation Congress. We congratulate these 10 individuals and their continued professional development. We look forward to the critical mission each of them fill in training our more than 500 member organization.”
