Fishing University to film on Lake Jocassee

The Mountain Lakes Convention and Visitors Bureau announces the upcoming filming of Fishing University on Lake Jocassee from Oct. 24-27. Mountain Lakes CVB President and CEO Ken Sloan gives details. “Fishing legends and Pros, Charlie Ingram and Ray Brazier will bring their show to town along with another fishing celebrity, Ben Parker, BASS Pro. The show will be filmed on Lake Jocassee with special guest and local FLW Pro, Matt Lowe.” A meet and greet is planned to welcome the Fishing University cast to Oconee County, adds Sloan. “There will be a meet and greet with the fishing stars at South Cove County Park on Friday, Oct. 24 at 7:30pm. This free event is for the entire family and will give the attendees a chance to ask the pros everything they always wanted to know about bass fishing. We are excited that Fishing University has chosen our area to film one of their shows. This is a great opportunity to bring the kids out to meet some top notch fishing legends and learn some of their fishing secrets that have made them so successful. I hope that we will have a great turnout. The first 25 guests will receive a free Nichols Lure Spinnerbait.” The show plans to film their “Back to School” segment at the Hamilton Career Center on Monday, Oct. 27. Joining them will be Scott Poore, DNR Biologist at the Fish Hatchery, and Dr. Jeff Hallo from Clemson University’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department who will be sharing career opportunities in the tourism and fishing industries with students.
