Floridian Drowned in Lake Jocassee Saturday

A tragic accident claimed the life of a diver at Lake Jocassee on Saturday. Anthony Reno, age 50 of Fleming Island, Florida, was exploring a dive site known as The Wall, a steep underwater cliff that drops to over 300 feet deep. He lost consciousness while diving and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before noon. The cause of his death is still unknown and an autopsy is pending. The authorities are investigating the incident, which is the first diving fatality at Lake Jocassee this year. The lake is a popular destination for divers, who come to see the clear water, the waterfalls, and the remains of a submerged town.
