Former City Planner presents Program on Land Use Issues

Land use planning involves many people making tough decisions about ways to use natural resources and develop vast areas of land while considering varied interests and points of view. Interested residents are invited to attend the League of Women Voters meeting on Sept. 16, to hear Donna London, a former Clemson city planner and current director of the Jim Self Center on the Future at the Strom Thurmond Institute, explain the “how and when” of presenting your concerns about land use on the municipal and county levels. The program’s title is “Citizen Input into Local Land Use Decisions: Understanding the Process.” The meeting begins at 7pm in the main meeting room of the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute in Clemson at 100 Thomas Green Boulevard in Patrick Square. The program starts at 7:30pm. London’s talk will cover the comprehensive plan, various local agencies and the required public hearings, and the appeals process. A question-and-answer session will follow.
