Former Salem Mayor Leading Local Effort for Kentucky Flood Relief

Salem’s former mayor Thurmond Coward visited Kentucky last week and is heading up a local effort to collect emergency items to take them to the town of Whitesburg, KY, which was hit hard by flooding in the Blue Grass State.

Coward said he has a trailer set up at his home, located across from Salem Town Hall at 10 Park Avenue. and he has a list of items that you can donate for the Kentucky flood victims in need…

Coward said he hopes to get the relief truck to the affected areas by the first of next week.
