Fortunately No Fires in OC says Red Cross

Tuesday’s snow and freezing rain may have caused havoc on roads in Oconee County, but fortunately there were no fires reported to the local chapter of the American Red Cross, explains executive director Kathy Rogers.  “We have been very, very lucky this go round with the weather.  We have not had any house fires.  We have not been requested to open a shelter due to power outages or a warming shelter.  So, this time we have been lucky.  We are just telling folks to stay in, stay safe and stay off the roads if possible.” To learn more about the Oconee County Chapter of the American Red Cross visit http://www.redcross.org/sc/walhalla.
